JESSICA ROSA

Jessica grew up in Spanish Harlem "El Barrio" and in the Bronx. Raised in the Puerto Rican and Dominican culture, she loves representing her Afro-Latina roots. 

From age 6 - 18, Jessica swam competitively for a USA Swim team - AGUA. Alongside her two siblings, the family was blessed to swim under the Swim For The Future Scholarship. Her swim journey continued in a D1 and D3 College resulting in swim records and award recognitions.  Loving the sport, she has held many aquatic roles and absolutely loves to teach swimming to all ages! 

Jessica is a NYS Dual Certified Physical Education and Health Education educator. 

She has earned a Bachelor's, Masters, Post-Masters Advanced Cert., and additional 30 graduate credits. 

To expand Health Education for the youth, Jessica designed and implemented a Secondary Women's Health curriculum. 

For 3 years she led a High School Women's Health course under NYS Health Education - Graduation credited. 

The course started with 1 section (9 students), 2 sections (44 students), 3 sections (60 students). 

The transformation she witnessed and felt across the years led for her to continue the work beyond her classroom. 

Proudly, Jessica has presented "Women's Health" for NYS Physical Education/Health teachers in multiple conferences  and workshops across NYS.  

In recognition of her professional journey, Jessica gained the position of Adjunct Lecturer for CUNY Lehman College. Jessica teaches 3 graduate courses in the Department of Health Promotion and Nutrition Sciences. 

To continue her mission, Jessica decided to embark on a journey filled with motivation, perseverance and dedication. 

As a proud Afro-Latina, she is pursuing a Doctor of Education (ED.D), degree at Teachers College, Columbia University in the Department of Health Education and Promotion. 

She is focused on a Secondary Women's Health curriculum and PCOS Education
